Need help first time hamster

Hi all. We braught 2 serian hamsters on Saturday the female 1 is a lively little thing. 10 weeks old. But the male 8 weeks old. Doesn't come out of his house. 1st night he was very active. Now he doesn't come out and seems quite stressed. Have a really upset little girl thinking he's poorly. Any help wld truly be appreciated. There in separate cages. Thanks.

Does he often get waked up or handled throughout the day? He could just be stressed and not wanting to have human interaction, which is quite normal for a hamster. However, it could also be some type of underlying sickness. Are there any signs of an illness such as appetite loss, weight loss, glazed eyes, etc?

This is great news. Just ensure that you give him plenty of space if he seems like he needs it (getting agitated, looking stressed etc) and make sure to give him lots of treats and love. He may be a little skittish for the first few days/weeks while he gets used to his surroundings and your scent. Lots of love and best wishes! X
